Renewable Electricity
for businesses in Ireland
The way we supply renewable electricity to your business offers you value and flexibility.
Flogas Enterprise was Ireland’s first supplier of 100% green electricity to business customers in 2013
Tailored approaches to suit your business needs
We supply renewable electricity to all our customers through either our standard renewable electricity package, or through a Corporate Power Purchasing Agreement (CPPA).
A CPPA is a contractual arrangement for large energy users to procure energy directly from a renewable power facility such as a wind farm, solar farm, or anaerobic digestion facility. They can range in length of term from 1 year to 15 years.
To support the development of a new build wind farm, corporates must commit to buy the wind/solar energy for a long term typically 10+ years.
All our electricity is certified 100% renewable.
*Flogas Enterprise is issued Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) for every megawatt hour (MWh) of generation that we have sourced from renewable electricity generators to meet our customers consumption requirements. These GoOs are used to calculate our fuel mix disclosure.
Each year, suppliers submit a completed fuel mix declaration to the Single Electricity Market Operator (SEMO), which it then uses to carry out and verify the fuel mix disclosure (FMD) calculations. These figures are published annually by the CRU.
In addition to its certification as a supplier of 100% green electricity to businesses in Ireland, Flogas Enterprise was the first company to provide ‘green gas’ (Biomethane) in Ireland to our customer, Tesco. Read what the Commission for Regulation of Utilities has to say about our electricity.
We believe in getting to know and understand your business.
We carry out a full energy audit of your business which can result in clear recommendations for you to reduce your bills, reduce your impact on the environment and improve the way you do business.
Why choose a CPPA?
Conscientious businesses are now looking for more tangible ways to demonstrate their commitment to drive their renewable agenda, one of their options is to enter into a CPPA. There are currently only 12 businesses that have signed up to a CPPA in Ireland to date. Flogas Enterprise will bring our expertise to companies like you to help you find a CPPA that suits you. Some benefits include:
Flogas Enterprise is making CPPAs accessible to large energy users today, by offering CPPA integration with normal electricity supply, along with all the support and education to make it happen.
We have helped businesses like yours manage their energy more efficiently and make progress towards a sustainable energy future.
“Ballygowan, Ireland’s iconic water brand, has a long history of harnessing the best of Ireland’s natural resources to deliver sustainable, locally produced, Irish natural mineral water. This new Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Flogas Enterprise, valued at €2.5 million, will produce renewable electricity for our production facility in Newcastle West and is a significant investment in our long-term strategy to ensure 100% sustainability across Britvic Ireland’s business operations.”
“Our mission is to become carbon neutral by 2030 and this is an important step in cutting our carbon emissions. It will enable our business to become more sustainable and provide us with a long-term solution to our requirements. It also reflects our values and desire to do our part in the community to lead the way in responding to climate change. We are replacing our existing energy sources with sustainable, more environmentally friendly alternatives with the focus on a sole use of electricity from renewable energy sources.”
“We are functioning in a time when large energy users have limited hedging options. In a volatile energy market, having a fixed price for the supply of electricity through a CPPA is not only good for the environment, but it is also great for budgeting. This solution was hedged at a price that is reflective of current market price level, but delivers budget certainty and sustainability benefits.”
“Our investments in renewable energy not only help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from our operations in Ireland, but also, together with our energy efficiency efforts, help to control our electricity costs so we can pass any benefits to our customers by continuing to offer high quality home furnishings at low prices. Companies, individuals or governments – we all have responsibility to address the resource dilemma and commit to a more sustainable future. Producing our own, affordable, renewable electricity gets us one step closer to becoming completely energy independent by 2020, while ensuring our commercial success”
